POST-OPERATIVE REHABILITATION SERVICE

This program is based on early intervention to achieve early mobility. Vascular amputees and amputees with diabetes have shown especially good progress in healing on the Post-op program.

The Post Op Program starts as early as a few hours after amputation. A Post Op Rigid Dressing is applied to control swelling which happens a few hours after amputation. The second step happens a few days later when we apply a Silicone Liner. The Silicone Liner applies a gradual compression, therefore shaping the residual limb for prosthetic fitting. The last step before initial prosthetic fitting begins is the application of a Rehab Prosthesis. This prosthesis is used in hospital to get the clients back on their feet as soon as possible.
